Dr. T. Alan Keahey : Founder and President

Alan is the Founder of Visualytics (formerly known as Visintuit) and has served as President since 2003. In prior years he was the Director of Research at Visual Insights, a Lucent Bell Labs venture company specializing in applications of visualization to analyze and understand web traffic behavior.
Prior to joining Visual Insights, Alan was a Visualization Research Scientist with the Advanced Computing Lab at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he conducted research on many nationally significant applications of information and scientific visualization. Dr. Keahey is an internationally recognized expert in the field of information visualization, has served on numerous scholarly committees, and has published dozens of articles on the subject of information visualization and visual analysis.
Alan holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Indiana University , Bloomington , an M.S. in Computer Science from Indiana University, and a B.C.Sc. (Honors) from the University of Manitoba. In his "spare" time he enjoys biking, high-performance driving and downhill skiing in the Canadian Rockies.

Dr. Craig R. Barnes : Director of Research

|
Dr. Barnes is the Director of Research at Visualytics, where he researches and develops visualization applications. His main research area is visualization of uncertainty in battlefield situations, human computer interaction, and real time rendering.
Concurrently, Dr. Barnes is also an Adjunct Faculty member in the Computer Science Department at DePaul University, where he teaches graduate level classes in Human Computer Interaction. Previously, he was Senior Research Programmer at Industrial Virtual Reality, Inc., where he created a system for animating service procedures of technical manuals using CAD models and virtual humans. Dr. Barnes also held a position at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, working with Benoit Mandlebrot on visualization of fractal mathematics.
Dr. Barnes received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a B.S in Computer Graphics from the University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Kenneth C. Cox : Senior Software Architect |

Ken Cox received the D.Sc. in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis. He was a Member of Technical Staff with Bell Laboratories (later Lucent Technologies) through 2001, working in the areas of program visualization, Web services, interactive voice systems, networking and security. He holds multiple patents in these areas and has published numerous conference and journal papers and posters. He began work with Visualytics in 2003 and has worked on systems for data analysis, graphics pipeline programming, and multi-level displays of information.
Ken also teaches at North Central College in Naperville in the Computer Science department, and is actively involved in his church and local community theater. His hobbies include walks, reading, and a perhaps-unhealthy enjoyment of Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" programming.
